In Class Maya Quiz - Richard Townsend

This sketch represents the base idea I had. It was based on the ballet shoe that I uploaded for assignment 2A. It would act as an ankle brace and be able to track movements and the muscles and ligaments in the foot and ankle. The foot would go inside the loops and the strands coming off the bottom would go on top of the foot.
To create this form I started with a loop shape. I used the soft selection tool on the vertices to make the initial loop the size and shape I wanted. From there I used the mirror command to create the main shape of the wearable. I then used multi-cut and smooth to make more faces that could be edited. Then I selected some of them and used extrude and rotate to make the strands coming off of the end. In order to connect the strands back to the main shape I used append to polygon on specific faces. In order to connect the loops in the back for more support  I used the bridge command.

Using the Natural Contours of the human foot, we created a breathable shoe that allows natural movement. The shoe is easily placed on the foot and reinforces itself only in the most comfortable areas. One example of the simplicity we reached for can be seen in the example below.

Hieu Le - Assignment 1B

I used 2 different orientations of my models. One in an L shape configuration focusing on more slender bridging, and the 2nd, with a side to side configuration focusing on heavier mass bridging. I used extrude, rotate, bridge, lattice box, insert edge loop, and move commands.
