Midterm - Verlag Eugene + Zair Toloza

Since its inception neck ties have been a decorative article of clothing. It was an interesting look in the 17th century and it evolved quite a bit, yet not much has changed in the past 100 years. Drawing inspiration from stranger figs, a tie could be a literal constriction around one’s neck. Even going as far as taking over the human body. Depending on the individual, the scheme of the strangler tie could become protective gear or remain an elegant and interesting tie as it was intended in the 17th century, but with a modern interpretation.

For the first one I removed the top half of the bottom shape and moved vertexes and merged them together. Then I used adapt to poly and bridge to connect the shapes and extrusions from the shapes. For the second piece I experimented using the ring poly around my wing shape. I used multi-cut, extrude and bridge to create all of the strands that connect the shapes.
